Cottage Country has numerous talented Artists and Artisans, crafting unique one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to the cottage country experience. Here are some of our favourites that you will want to check out this summer.

Featured Artist Paul Chester – Art Gallery of Bancroft
Paul Chester has been painting striking surreal landscapes and capturing natural beauties from memory for 32 years now. Both his oil and acrylic paintings hold you captive with texture and colour, creating a peace; tranquility that you can feel, as if you are standing there in nature within his whimsical creation of the world as he recollects it. Combining painting and sculptural elements

Chester uses glazes to build out layers of paint and sculpting knives to create a texture reminiscent of natural textures found in the rolling hills that surround his local studio.

Paul Chester will be featured at the Art Gallery of Bancroft from August 1st to September 1st, with an opening reception Friday, August 3 at 7:30 pm. www.artgallerybancroft.ca   http://www.artgallerybancroft.ca/index.php/shows-events/art-gallery-bancroft-coming-shows
