A.R.K. Animal Rescue Krew

Established in 1999, ARK Animal Rescue Krew is a non-profit animal welfare organization located at 3307 Lakefield Road.

The organization was started by Marie Hunt of Lakefield and is also active in Peterborough, Oshawa and Whitby.

ARK’S goal is to aid in dealing with stray and abandoned cats, by educating the public on spay and neutering to control the overall cat population.

Each year ARK finds homes for over 1200 cats. Adoptions are done locally by word of mouth or by participating in the Petsmart’s Luv a Pet centre at the Whitby location.

ARK also works with several municipal shelters to find homes for rescue cats.

The adoption fee is $100 – this includes the cat’s vaccinations and neuter or spay if it is a mature cat. Kittens are adopted with a $50 spay or neuter voucher. They also have a 60 day return policy if it doesn’t “work out” with a replacement or fee returned.

You can connect with Ark at 705-651-0069 or 705-652-3427 and let them know your preference of age, color, and sex and they will match you with a new furry friend.

Any donations are gladly accepted and income tax receipts are issued.
