As K9’s Wolfe and Hal get ready to retire the Police are asking Kindergarten classes in Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, PVNCCDSB Kawartha Montessori School, École catholique Monseigneur-Jamot to guess the name of one of the two new Police Service Dogs!

Contest starts Sept. 24! Keep watching their Facebook and Twitter feeds for your daily hint starting Sept. 24!

Everyone can try and guess but ONLY a Kindergarten class will win the grand prize! At the end of the contest they will list some of the best and most creative submissions (from kids and adults!).

For teachers: Visit their website for all of the details along with a video and another picture of the dog.

The two new Canine Officers, Constable Kyle Adey and Constable Bob Cowie, and their Police Service Dogs are currently at a 15 week training course in Niagara, Ontario. Following this initial course, the Canine Officers and their Police Service Dogs will undergo regular maintenance training once a month followed by a week-long re-certification course every six months.

The new dogs are both a German Shepherd/Malinois mix and are both approximately 15 months old.

Constable Adey’s dog was purchased by the Peterborough Police Service while Constable Cowie’s dog was purchased through a donation from a local sponsor. The local sponsor will be making an announcement about our second dog in the coming weeks.

Good luck and happy guessing! 🤔
