Global Angel Charitable Organization officially announced this past week that registrations are open for their second annual plane pull event, at the Peterborough Airport.
The event will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015.
The first plane pull challenge event “Pulling for Patients” was held in June of this year and was a great success, bringing together people from the community and team participants from as far away as Calgary and North Bay.
In all, 13 teams of 10 competed to pull a 20 ton Bombardier CRJ 200 Aircraft, raising $25,000 for those in need of medical transportation, both locally and around the globe.
Vendors of all kinds where there along with games for the kids, prizes, displays, live music and a breakfast catered by renowned Chef Brian Henry.
Chef Brian announced this week that he would be catering the event in May of 2015.
Founder Gail Courneyea said “there was media support that extended to papers across the province along with the inclusion of a videographer from the Aviators TV show, followed by a wonderful evening at the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters with special guests.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success. A number of families confronted by a medical crisis have been helped since June because of this event!”
Cottage Country Connection also announced this past week that they will be the lead diamond sponsor for the Plane Pull Challenge event again in 2015.
Businesses, schools, sports teams and friends are encouraged to get a team of ten together and register early for the 2015 event on May 30th.
On October 22, 2014 a general meeting will be held for volunteers, sponsors and anyone interested can attend at the Lions Centre in Peterborough, located at 37 Burnham Street from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
