The Bruce Cockburn concert May 4 is sold out, so remember to buy tickets early for any of our memorable shows.  During May we have some more great live entertainment coming – Harry Manx (May 13), the Barra

May 25

MacNeils (May 25) and Menopause the Musical (May 29-30) to name a few.  These acts are always popular so order your tickets soon!

We had an almost-full house in April for The Leisure Seeker, the first TIFF film presented by Films on the Scugog this year.  Remember, you can get reserved seats to see superb TIFF films in the Academy’s comfortable new seats (only in the orchestra section, though).  The next TIFF film is Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story screening May 8, followed June 12 by the delightful comedy C’est la Vie!, which premiered at Toronto’s TIFF last September at the closing night gala.  More TIFF films will screen July 10, August 21 and September 11.

It’s not too soon to think about summer at the Academy, with Broadsway July 7, Lindsay Little Theatre’s farce See How They Run July 19-21, Triple Threat Theatre’s musical Annie in August and much more.  We will also have some wonderfully intimate concerts in our second floor lounge twice monthly during June, July and August.  Keep checking our website at as more shows are announced.

Plus: our second floor lounge displays artwork from the Kawartha Arts Network.  The display changes frequently, so take a look when you’re in for a show.
